Painting has taken me to many physical, emotional and spiritual places. I paint and draw from reality and memory. I look for interesting compositions, beautiful light, shadows and the intimacy found in the details of particular locations, real and imagined. Recently I have found myself on a new path. I still love and paint trees, but I am am exploring the fine line between landscape and abstraction. I am concentrating on color, form, space and line: their relationship to each other and the effects on the viewer's perception and feeling.
